Naata Nungarrayi

Naata Nungarrayi was born some time around 1932 at Kumil, west of the Pollock hills in Western Australia. She began painting for Papunya Tula in 1996 and was involved in the Kintore, Haasts Bluff Collaborative Women’s Canvas in 1994 for the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW). Her entry in the 19th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award (2002) was one of four highly commended by the judges.

Naata Nungarrayi is a very successful aboriginal artist and her paintings are much sought after for investment and pleasure.
