This painting by Thomas Tjapaltjarri is his representation of the Tingari ancestors story. The Tingari ancestors are important figures in the creation period as understood by the Pintupi people. Thomas paints the abstracted forms of the landscape from an aerial view. The small white dots create a mesmerising pattern over the canvas based on the patterns made by the salt crystals on the dry clay pans. He uses the colours of the desert including the sky and water from deep reds to bright blues.
