Aboriginal Artefacts hold the interest of historians, anthropologists and collectors alike and have been appreciated for the cultural understandings they provide. Gannon House Gallery houses an extensive collection of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander artefacts and sculptures. Sourced from communities and private collectors over the past thirty years the collection represents fine carvings, tools, spearheads, spear throwers, bark and hollow logs. Artefacts were produced intentionally for use in ceremony or for purpose. When the opportunities arose they were used in exchanges with traders or for sale.
