Elodie Barker makes beautiful sculptures out of ceramic. These are very whimsical and capture the animal expressions so well that each piece has it’s own personality.
Ceramic artist, Elodie Barker studied at the University of South Australia at Underdale Campus. After
completing her degree she participated in Jam Factory’s Career Development Scheme in the Ceramics Studio.
The Jam Factory is a unique not-for-profit organisation located in the Adelaide city centre and at Seppeltsfield in the Barossa, JamFactory is supported by the South Australian Government and is recognised globally as a centre for excellence.
JamFactory’s purpose-built studios for Ceramics, Glass, Furniture, Jewellery + Metal provide skills and business training for artists and designers through our rigorous two-year Associate training program.
Our exhibition and retail spaces showcase contemporary Australian craft practice and offer a wide range of high quality and collectable craft and design.
She went on to have a private studio for two years and has now set up her own ceramic business at home in Adelaide.
Elodie is currently a tenant in the Ceramic Studio at the Jam Factory, making some very creative, colourful, wacky sculptures.
They are decorated using pre-mixed Cesco colours and fired in a kiln to 1150C. Each piece features cartoon-like characters in design, all having their own unique personalities.
