Ngoia Pollard Tjapaltjarri
Born in Haasts Bluff c.1948, Ngoia Pollard Tjapaltjarri went to school in Papunya where she met Jack Tjampitjinpa. She moved to Kintore and after assisting her husband with his paintings she began painting. She focused on her father's (Jim Tjungurrayi) story, My Country - Nyrripi in 1996. In 2004 Ngoia Pollard won the Advocate Central Australian Award, NT, (Newspaper) and, two years later in 2006, the Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award in Darwin in the painting category. She continues to paint the swamps at Nyrripi, nuancing her style over the past 20 years.
