Eileen Napaltjarri grew up in Haasts Bluff, moving to Kintore as an adult after spending some time painting in Papunya. Her father, Charlie Tjugurrayi, was one of the founding members of Papunya Tula Artists, and her mother, Tatali Nangala, was also an artist. Eileen began painting in 1997, taught to paint by others painting in the community.

Eileen is not a prolific artist but is developing a profile. She was awarded Redlands Westpac Art Prize, Emerging Artist Award in 2005 and has work in major national art collections, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the National Gallery of Australia and Art bank.
