Micheal Nelson Tjakamarra began moving away from his more traditional Men's Dreaming's stories, neatly painted with ordered dots surrounding the elements of his stories, often combined onto one canvas. After a series of workshops in Brisbane from the mid 2000's he painted paintings with a much more fluid and expressionist bent to them. This painting is an example of this style of work.
